Yes, I know it hurts, I know on that particular day of the year when it comes around it seems to prick your heart in a certain way. The pain seems to linger to remind you that for some reason or the other it still hurts you. Why is it that the pain that took place in our lives seem to at times hold us back from experiencing new things in our future or new people? Can we ever really just rip those things out of us if we wanted to and just start over? I have heard that the one good thing about pain, is that it reminds us that we are still alive. Still able to feel emotions weather they are painful or not. Do you think it would be such a great thing not to feel anything at all? Not to be able to attach your heart to another person? I would doubt that. I heard it said that the pain that we experience in our lives make us who we are. They teach us life lessons that will eventually bring us to new experiences. The one thing we have to realize is, not to see those new experiences by those old wounds. At times we have to allow ourselves to be subjective and know that every experience is different. Every person that we meet is different. Like snow flakes that fall in the winter. They might look the same color, but when seen under a microscope, each one that falls are shaped differently and are individuals of their own.
So, that thing that you experienced so long ago, did it hurt? Yes.
Did it make you feel terrible? Yes.
Does it stir up bad emotions when you think about it? Yes.
Is there a wound that lies deep within that still can be pricked when touched by someone to close? Yes.
But, can you see tomorrow beyond the pain that you still feel.
Can you still laugh with someone that you just met?
Can you smile at the mere thought of experiencing something new?
Can you see the rainbow beyond the rain or even see the sunshine through the morning clouds?
If you have answered yes to anyone of those.
Then the pain that you feel today, one day will only be remembered by the memory of that time, not by the pain that is felt. They say time heals all wounds,
but the thing is, that sometimes we have to find the right doctor or nurse to patch them up just right.
Will you be willing to do so? The middle you face, just might be the bandage you needed.
Everything is different, if you let it be.
